PlastiTrax® MultiSize is an advanced microplastic reference material specifically developed to evaluate size-dependent recovery effects within microplastic analytical workflows. The tablet contains four different polymers, each present in a distinct particle size fraction (PS:20–25 µm, PVC:25–50 µm, PMMA:50–100 µm, and PET:100–200 µm), enabling simultaneous assessment of multiple size classes in a single analysis.

​As particle recovery in microplastic analysis is strongly influenced by particle size, smaller particles are often significantly more difficult to recover during filtration, transfer, digestion, and sample preparation procedures. PlastiTrax® MultiSize allows laboratories to directly assess how recovery efficiency changes across different size ranges while minimizing analytical effort and measurement time.

​Each tablet is individually characterized using spectroscopic imaging techniques, providing exact particle numbers per polymer type. This enables reproducible QA/QC workflows, method optimization, comparison of sample preparation procedures, and ISO-aligned recovery evaluation across a broad analytical size range.
