PlastiTrax® Priority Lite
Volume Discount
The PlastiTrax® Priority Lite contains tablets with 5 priority polymers (PE, PP, PS, PET, PVC) relevant for microplastic analysis, providing a comprehensive and realistic test scenario for analytical workflows. Each tablet includes a precisely determined number of particles in defined size fractions, enabling accurate recovery calculations and reliable method validation.
Included Polymers: PE, PP, PS, PVC, PET
Particle Count: 50-150 (Exact particle number is found on the label (packaging) of each tablet)
(Particle count for size fraction 20-200 µm: 50-250 MPs)
Polymer Distribution: random; we guarantee the presence of each of the listed polymers.
Exact particle number: is found on the label (packaging) of each tablet;
Individual Certificates of Analysis (COA) can be provided for each order upon request.
Used Potassium bromide (KBr) as matrix substance is heated above 600°C for at least 48h to avoid any possible contamination (including microplastics).
If contaminations are found, these will be specifically noted on the label of each tablet.
Shape:
The microplastic particles are produced via a cryogenic milling process followed by a wet sieving, resulting in irregularly shaped fragments in different size groups that closely resemble environmental microplastics. Due to the production process and intrinsic material properties, particle shape and morphology may vary depending on the polymer type.
Size:
The specified particle size fractions are based on the minimum Feret diameter (min Feret), defined as the smallest distance between two parallel tangents of a particle.
Please note that particle size definitions may vary depending on the analytical method, as many techniques report sizes based on the maximum Feret diameter (max Feret).
Each tablet is individually packaged in aluminum foil to prevent contamination. The pellets are double-wrapped in aluminum sheets to minimize exposure to ambient humidity and ensure product integrity during storage and handling. If tablets appear cloudy upon arrival, this does not affect product integrity or analytical performance in any way.
Label: Each tablet is individually labeled. On the label information about particle size distribution, exact particle count (verified using µFTIR) per polymer type and potentially found contaminations can be found.
Store in dry conditions (ideally desiccator)
Short periods of storage can be done in ambient air. (cloudy tablets do not alter performance in any way)
Stable under recommended storage conditions for 12 months.
PlastiTrax products are intended for reseach only.
