Artificial Test Sample V is a ready-to-use microplastic test sample designed to simulate real-world environmental microplastics. It contains Real Plastix particles derived from everyday consumer products (PE, PP, PS, PVC, PET), embedded in a combination of organic (cellulose-based) and inorganic (sea sand) matrices within 20 mL filtered water.

The particles exhibit realistic shapes, surface structures, and complex material compositions, including typical additives. This makes the sample ideal for method validation, workflow optimization, and testing analytical performance under practical, real-world conditions.

  • The inorganic matrix consists of commercially sourced sea sand, partially milled to simulate a realistic distribution of sediment and larger sand particles. Prior to thermal treatment, the material is acid-treated to further reduce potential contaminants. It is then heated at 600 °C for 48 hours, ensuring a clean and controlled matrix for reliable microplastic analysis.
