Artificial Test Sample II
Artificial Test Sample I is a ready-to-use microplastic test sample designed to simulate complex environmental matrices. It contains a Priority Complete tablet with all 10 priority polymers, embedded in an organic (cellulose from wood) matrix within 20 mL filtered water.
This configuration enables laboratories to evaluate digestion protocols under realistic and controlled conditions, making it ideal for method development, validation, and recovery testing in microplastic analysis.
The inorganic matrix consists of commercially sourced sea sand, partially milled to simulate a realistic distribution of sediment and larger sand particles. Prior to thermal treatment, the material is acid-treated to further reduce potential contaminants. It is then heated at 600 °C for 48 hours, ensuring a clean and controlled matrix for reliable microplastic analysis.
